Reminders and Updates!
Howdy Barracudas!
Great job with our first meet of the season!! Everyone swam well and I can't wait to see time improvements with our next several meets!
If you were at practice, you probably saw me pull each group out of the water. We talked about what it looks like to be a good sport. Please help me remind the athletes about the importance of good sportsmanship. One thing I mentioned to them was waiting in the water at the end of a race until all other athletes in the heat are finished. We will practice this on our Barracuda Dual on Thursday.
Speaking of the Barracuda Dual (Thursday 6/13), please RSVP yes or no for this meet by noon tomorrow. Warm ups will be at 7:45 AM and we will begin the meet around 8:20. This is going to take the place of practice. (NO PRE TEAM THIS DAY) When you RSVP, you are able to put requests. Please help me and Coach Taylor by putting your requests as you RSVP for the meet. Also know, that we will try our best to accommodate, but we might have to put your athlete in a different event to get times, fill in gaps, or score points for the team if we are trying to win. As for relays, please know that Coach Taylor and I try to let all athletes have a relay. Sometimes this is not possible due to the number of athletes that we have in certain age groups.
A huge thank you to all of our volunteers yesterday. If you are able, please volunteer to help out at our meet on Thursday morning! We appreciate all your help! The meets would not happen without yall!
For Thursday's meet, your athlete can swim up to 3 individuals. We will only have the freestyle relays at the end so that we can make sure we are done by 11:00. If you do not have a preference of event, no need to make a note. Otherwise, please put requests in when you RSVP. Coach Taylor and I will be splitting up the athletes into a Blue team and a Green team. Athletes will score points for their teams by placing (1st-6th place scores points). We will announce the winner at practice on Friday.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
