When Northside ISD is still in session, the competition team practices are in the evenings for 30 minutes per group starting at 4:30pm, Mondays - Thursdays. 

Due to limited pool time in the evenings, Pre-Team does not practice while school is in session.

Once school is out, practices are in the morning, Mondays - Fridays, starting at 7:00 am and lasting 30 minutes for 6& Under and Pre-Team and 45 minutes for 7 and Up.

On Home meet days, we have consolidated 20 minute morning practice sessions including diving block practice while parent volunteers set up the pool for the meet. Groups and times TBA. On Away meet days, we do not have morning practice. Pre-team does not have practice on meet days.

We understand that you may have other commitments, especially while school is still in session, that prevent your swimmer from attending practice. This is very common, and we still welcome you on the team, just tell your coach or Contact Us so that we know when to expect you.

Bad Weather Policy

We do swim in the rain, but for safety reason, we don't swim during thunder, lightening, or hard rain that prevents the coaches form seeing under the water.

  • 5:00-5:30 PM while NISD is still in school

  • 5:30-6:00 PM while NISD is still in school
• 7-10 Green Cudas^
  • 6:00-6:30 PM while NISD is still in school
• 11 & 12
  • 6:30-7:00 PM while NISD is still in school
• 13 and up
  • 7:00-7:30 PM while NISD is still in school

*No practice on May 21 (Last Day of School) or May 25 (Memorial Day)

Morning Practice May 22 - June 23, 2026
Weekdays Including Fridays. Meet day practice times are different. (See above.)

• 6 and under (this also includes the 5 and 6 year olds who are signed up for Pre-Team aka Pre-Team Group 1)
  • 7:45-8:15 AM during summer
• Pre-Team Group 2 (4 year olds and 7 and up Pre-Team group)
  • 8:15-8:45 AM during summer
• 7-10 Blue Barras^
  • 8:45-9:30 AM during summer
• 7-10 Green Cudas^
  • 9:30-10:15 AM during summer
• 11 & 12
  • 10:15-11:00 AM during summer
• 13 and up
  • 7:00-7:45 AM during summer (this will be the 1st group to go)

^Blue and Green groups are assigned by our coaches after registration closes. The main goal of creating the blue and green groups is to evenly distribute swimmers across our biggest age band so that we avoid crowding in the lanes. If the group your family is assigned to doesn't fit your schedule, contact the coaches to request a switch.
