6/6 Splash Meet Instructions
June 5th
We hope you're ready for tomorrow's meet against Splash!
- The heat sheet will be coming out tomorrow. In addition, you can see your swimmer's races (including relays) in the app.
- We have an optional 15-minute per group morning practice tomorrow. Group times are posted here. (No pre-team practice.)
- Please plan to arrive at TMI Episcopal's campus (20955 Tejas Trail W) at about 3:30 pm to set up and be ready for warm ups, which start at 4pm for the 7-10 year olds and 4:15 pm for the remaining groups.
- TMI is a gated campus, so tell the gate attendant you are there for the meet. They will direct you to the two parking lots that are downhill from the pool. Those are the only lots we are to use, and Splash has asked us to fill the lower lot first, the overflow to the upper lot.
- Our team's set up area is the open field downhill from the pool, near the tennis courts. It doesn't have trees like Braun Station, so consider bringing shade canopies and inviting other Barracuda families to sit under them with you. We'll set up all of the team's tents for our swimmers and their families to use.
- When you arrive, please let the Check In volunteer know your swimmer is there. And when you are ready to leave for the evening, talk with your kid's high school coach first, to verify that they don't need your kid to be a substitute on a relay.
- Splash's pool is indoors and parents are not allowed on the pool deck. Parents can enter the facility to watch races through the pool's main entrance doors. Restrooms for athletes are just off the deck, and there are public restrooms on the basement floor of the facility.
- A full Visitors Packet with meet guidelines from Splash is attached. It includes a map of the grounds.
- We are still short 5 volunteer positions to run this meet (3 second shift ready bench parents, 1 second shift timer, and someone with a large vehicle who can help take our gear back from the meet). We know every family attending is volunteering as required (thank you!), and humbly ask that if you have capacity via a 2nd parent or a role that doesn't span the entire meet, if you'd consider signing up for the remaining shifts in the app.
- IMPORTANT REMINDER: At least one parent (or designated adult) for each family must set up in the large roped off area with our swimmers. Kids who do not remain in the roped area will be removed from events. Please help us by following this policy. Splash keeps the meet on a prompt schedule and will not hesitate to start races (even relays) without swimmers if they are not behind the blocks on time.
