    Champs and Party Details

The Champs officials have provided us some additional information about tomorrow. And we've included some reminders for Monday's party. Read on...

Champs at NISD Natatorium (8400 N Loop 1604 W, San Antonio, TX 78249)

    - Park near the outdoor pool gates, which will be opened at 8am.

    - All teams will be set up at the far end/south side of the outdoor pool. A map is attached. We've been assigned area 6, which comes with a large assembled tent (yay!), and we will supplement with some of our team's tents if needed. If you are a set up volunteer or one of the first to arrive, we could use a hand setting up our area.

    - Coaches will take the kids to warm up from 9-9:25 am.  Don't be late!

    - The meet starts at 10 am. All non-volunteers need to sit in the stands. We have not heard how volunteer wristbands will be distributed so please listen and follow any instructions provided tomorrow.

    - The preliminary heat sheet is attached. There may be a few minor changes between now and the start of the meet.

    - The officials will keep the meet moving briskly and use 10 lanes, but plan for a long meet, and be sure to pack snacks and items to keep your kid (and yourself!) entertained. Traditionally, Kona Ice has been set up in the parking area if you need a cold treat.

    For our Monday Awards Party...

    - Gates Open at 3 pm for Open Swim

    - At 5 pm, we'll have our traditional parent relay race, and the winning team will race the coaches. Earn some bragging rights and impress your kid by bringing your suit and googles and joining a team. You can set up your own relay in advance or just gather near the starting area and get matched with 3 other middle-aged champions!

    - At 5:15 pm, we'll serve pizza and drinks, followed by cake. While your in line for food, we'll also be offering any old team t-shirts for a pay-what-you-want donation. This is a great chance to snag a shirt for next year for parent or grandparent supporters.

    - At 6 pm, we'll award participant ribbons to all, anniversary awards, and trophies for the Most Valuable Swimmer and Most Improved Swimmers in each competition age group.

    - We aren't assigning volunteer jobs for the party because our parents are always great about seeing a need (like set up, serving food, or cleaning up) and pitching in to help. Thank you for everything you've done and continue to do this season!
