    That's A Wrap for the 2025 Season!

At the end of June, the Braun Station Barracuda swim team wrapped up its 44th consecutive season. Under the direction of Head Coach Madelyn Rayburg and Assistant Coach Taylor Simmons, the team of nearly 180 swimmers placed 3rd in the district meet and won two of its four dual meets.

The swimmers ranged in age from 4-year-olds, who swam in the team’s non-competitive/swim lessons Pre-Team program, to 18-year-old graduating seniors, who swam on the team and also served as junior coaches for the younger swimmers.
The Barracudas started training after school in mid-May and switched to morning practices once school let out. Over the 8-week season, the team hosted three dual meets and attended one Away meet. They also hosted a swim-a-thon and raised nearly $1,800 for new equipment like shade tents, diving block repairs, and backstroke flags.
Parents from every family played critical roles as volunteer leaders working behind the scenes to organize the season and as all-hands volunteers during meets, serving as timers, stroke judges, concession workers, line up organizers and more.
The final week of the season included a Spirit Day pancake breakfast, 6-and-Under Champs Meet, the District Champs Meet, and the team party, where the coaches presented awards to the swimmers in each age group with the most improved times and most points earned.
New swimmers are always welcome on the team. You can learn more about the Barracudas at BraunStationBarracudas.swimtopia.com. Registration for the 2026 season will open on the website in mid-April.
