From our league head official...

The MSSL summer swim season is rapidly approaching so it is time to for swimming officials to recertify and upgrade. Our clinics will be held as usual In rooms 227/228/229 at JCC in early May; the schedule detail is below (also on http://mssl.swim-league.us/ look under Clinics). All officials who were certified last year must attend a recertification session in order to continue working as an official in the upcoming season. We also urge you to look at whether you need to step up to starter or referee positions.

The sessions will be held on 3 weekends: Sunday May 7, Saturday May 13 and Sunday May 21.There will be a recertification session starting at 1 pm for all returning referees, starters, stroke and turn and head coaches (team reps are also welcome). Then from 2-4 pm we will have a training session for new stroke and turn officials and one for referees, starters, coaches and team reps.

Please look at your schedules now and plan for coming to one of the sessions. If you know you will have a conflict, please get in touch with us now and we should be able to work something out. If you wait until after the sessions to tell us you did not properly plan to make a session, we will have a lot less sympathy and also much less flexibility to make any accommodations for you.

Also all should remember that we will have an on-deck session where you can practice officiating skills prior to the season start. That session will be held at the JCC pool on Tuesday May 23 from 6-7 pm.
